About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Family Support Center Work/life Consultant (NH-0101-02) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Mission Support Group, 412th Force Support Squadron, Military & Family Readiness Center (412FSS/FSH) at Edwards AFB.
To assign commanders, military personnel and their families, and DoD civilian employees in managing the competing demands of the military mission and family. The Military and Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) provides information and family services necessary to support single and married personnel, civilian employees, and family members through provision and conduct of programs and services that provide information, improve skills by fostering competencies and coping skills, and offer short"term support and assistance when necessary. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, administer, and counsel units and their leadership on individual, family, and community issues including but not limited to career assistance, transition, relocation, family, and other work/life service and activities provided to military members, retirees, Department of Defense (DoD) civilian members, and their families.

Typical 2026 salary range: $47,490 - $113,185 Per Year (includes Locality)

Desired Skills:
-2 years of community needs assessment and data analysis experience desired
-2 years of experience developing Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) or formal community partnerships desired
-Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) certification desired
Major Duties:
- Assesses needs and provides work/life consultation, education, and referral services to individuals, families, and organizations.
-Evaluates and interprets data to identify trends, clarify issues, and determine appropriate courses of action.
-Develops, implements, and manages installation work/life services programs, goals, and procedures in accordance with regulations.
-Serves as the principal advisor on career, transition, relocation, financial management, and other work/life services.
-Develops referral policies and formal agreements with base and community agencies.
-Consults with and influences community leadership on work/life issues and strategies to foster a positive environment.
-Acts as an advocate for military families by integrating work/life approaches into organizational strategies.
-Establishes and maintains ongoing relationships with a wide network of on- and off-base agencies and community partners.
-Manages volunteers and/or work-study students to improve team-building and business practices.
-Designs and executes marketing and public relations strategies to promote services and disseminate community resource information.
Qualifications/Requirements:

- Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
