About the Role:
The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT/SYS ADMIN) (NH-2210-02) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Mission Support Group, 412th Communications Squadron, (412 CS/SCOSF) at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.

In this role, you will support 412 Test Wing through deployment and sustainment of robust operation capabilities, programs, and services. Provide proven infrastructure capabilities to meet the needs of America's premier Flight Test Center and all Edwards' customers while anticipating the challenges of the cyberspace domain.

Location: Edwards, CA
Typical 2024 salary range: $46,020-109,673 (includes locality)
Telework Information: Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
Travel Requirements: Up to 25% Travel possible

Desired Skills:
- 2 years of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing all hardware, software, network failures
- 2 years of experience working with customers to develop a mutual understanding of their IT related issues
- Effectively communicates, with strong written and oral communication skills

Major Duties:
- Responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing all hardware, software, network failures, in addition to providing a solution for every service request elevated to the assigned tier
- Plans, coordinates, and installs applications software and hardware for operating systems
- Provides on-going technical advice and guidance to customers in the operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and a variety of other routine IT issues
- Responds to user problems by analyzing, and resolving malfunctions, adjusting equipment configurations, and recommending appropriate acquisitions to optimize program advantages

Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Employee may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime or emergency overtime may be required.
- Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes Information Assurance work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, CJ.2.4.3. Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
- Knowledge of basic LAN/WAN and system principles and practices sufficient to install, configure, and troubleshoot components.
- Knowledge of concepts and techniques required to assist in the planning, operation, and maintenance of a LAN/WAN, including the installation and implementation of enhancements.
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply computer sciences and information technology principles and practices.
- Knowledge of systems analysis principles and techniques; process engineering concepts; enterprise IT architecture and new IT technologies, (e.g., e-business ideas, prototypes, pilots, and operational applications).
- Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more personnel to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
