The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory IT Specialist (NH-2210-03) to work at the 412 Test Wing, 412th Test Engineering Group, 412th Range Squadron, Range Engineering (412 RANS/ENRET) at Edwards AFB in Edwards, CA.

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
- At least 3 years of experience in defense and/or test and evaluation desired
- At least 3 years of experience leading/managing technical projects desired
- Prior supervisory experience desired

The mission of Range Engineering is to serve as the sustainment flight for all Range Squadron systems. The flight is responsible for managing all Range Squadron test system support and accomplishing long and short range internal project support planning. The flight also develops and engineers new systems to satisfy new requirements generated by Range Squadron customers and AFTC Leadership. The Range Squadron is committed to satisfying customer needs, reducing costs, improving mission turnaround time, providing adequate resources and assets, enabling people to excel, sustaining technological superiority, improving quality of life issues, and increasing throughput through the use of best business practices.

Major Duties:
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Interviews candidates for positions; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment. Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher level supervisor or manager. Effects minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases. Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training. Finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. Develops performance standards.
- Serves as a technical expert on Information Technology (IT) systems supporting real-time and post flight T&E activities. Keeps abreast of latest technology and techniques used by various disciplines within the Section. Keeps management apprised of current activities within the Section and advises them on potential improvements and upgrades to systems/capabilities. Advances the T&E capability within the Flight through innovative, well- orchestrated use of equipment, personnel and processes.
- Fulfills supervisory duties including training, time and attendance reporting, assignment of duties and associated roles and responsibilities, etc. Mentors and counsels employees as required. Identifies developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
- Provides technical IT system management and guidance to employees within the Section. Develops and implements work plans to accomplish major tasks. Determines day-to-day work priorities as required. Manages operation of the section through consultation with employees, review of reports and management reviews. Maintains an effective flow of work and re-directs efforts as necessary to accommodate workload fluctuations, changes in priorities or new requirements.

- Obtain & maintain Security clearance (Secret Clearance)
- Information Assurance (IA) Certification may be a condition of employment.
- Knowledge of advanced concepts, principles and techniques relevant to the use of IT systems for Range T&E support of the customer. Knowledge of statistically defensible test methods to validate software/hardware project designs and performance.
- Knowledge of test range instrumentation (TM, voice/data comm, TSPI, etc), air vehicle/missile test conduct, coordination and supervision, data analysis/evaluation and applicable flight test truth sources, modeling and simulation, technical report preparation and administrative aspects of flight test programs.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work between Range IT Specialists, technicians, electronic/mechanical engineers and computer scientists and other Air Force, DoD, domestic and foreign government agencies.
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret and apply rules, regulations and procedures to a variety of situations to recommend timely and economical solutions.
