The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Term, Financial Management Specialist (GS-0501-07T11) to work at the 412thTest Wing, 412th Wing Staff Agencies, 412th Comptroller Squadron, (412 CPTS/FM) at Edwards AFB in Edwards, CA.

Telework Information:
• Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and Office of Personnel Management (OPM) prescribed “Unscheduled Telework.”

• This position is a TERM position NOT to exceed 3 years but may be extended or lead to a permanent position.

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $57,007 - $109,673 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Mission/Purpose:
To develop knowledge and skills to provide financial management services to all personnel, programs, support missions, associates, tenants, and external customers for the installation. Services include financial pay services, financial management advisory service, financial decision support, budget operations, cost analysis, quality assurance, non-appropriated fund oversight, and resource management systems. To serve as a Financial Management Specialist in a developmental capacity, performing assignments designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluative skills and techniques. This is a developmental position and includes rotational assignments. All training must be completed, and regulatory requirements met prior to promotion.

Major Duties:
- Performs developmental assignments of moderate difficulty where work procedures are established, and a number of specific guidelines exist.
- Independently performs recurring assignments of limited, but gradually increasing, difficulty and complexity.
- Works with other specialists in planning and conducting special initiatives, studies, and projects. Assists in preparing reports and briefings outlining study findings and recommendations. Prepares written correspondence and other documentation.
- Uses automated financial management databases and systems and computer-generated products.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Education requirement – minimum of bachelor’s degree in related field with GPA of 2.95 or higher
- This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
- Skill in applying basic principles, concepts, and practices of the occupation sufficient to perform entry-level assignments in Financial Management.
- Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
- Ability to plan and organize work and consult effectively with co-workers.
- Ability to perform developmental and recurring assignments, participate in special initiatives, studies and/or projects and skill in preparing written correspondence and other documentation.
- Ability to develop skills in use of information technology to include Microsoft Office products and financial databases and systems.
