The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Information Technology Specialist (CUSTSPT) (NH-2210-02) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Mission Support Group, 412th Communications Squadron, (412 CS/SCOSC) at Edwards AFB in Edwards, CA.

Telework Information:

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $46,020 - $109,673 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
- 2 years of experience diagnosing all hardware, software, network failures, and providing technical support and advice to customers.
- To be familiar with a variety of software programs normally used in an office environment including Microsoft 365, Power Apps, and SharePoint.
- Ability to work effectively with and within a team, with strong written/oral communication skills and customer service focused.

Provide the first line of support to users of all AFTC/IT products and services. Responsible for primary contact customers have with IT. Establish and implement processes for receiving and processing all new IT requirements. Provide customer assistance (hardware and software) within the customer's organization and retain a central repository for technical advice and solutions for operations, applications, automated data processing support, hardware exchange and upgrades. Analyze, prioritize, solve and/or route requests to the appropriate organization for resolution. Determine the type of reported system problem, maintain status of problem resolution communicated to the affected customer and manage the historical database of problem resolution. Define and coordinate customer requirements during new technology planning and development. Initiate customer contact to provide status information on open work requests and to determine whether IT requirements are satisfactorily being met.

Major Duties:
- Assist supervisory team in defining business needs, objectives, and criteria for customer support. Support managements execution of a broad area of work processes and operational practices.
- Integrate desktop support with production support and change management. Apply knowledge and judgment to a wide variety or situations, which cross organizational/functional boundaries to evaluate the possible leveraging and application of new technology to support customer requirements.
- Provide technical expertise in support of IT applications, networks, communications and planning and become recognized authority in the development and interpretation of technical guidelines.
- Represent the agency in meetings and discussions with representatives of industry, inter-agency advisory committees, other Federal agencies and various public organizations to resolve problems, exchange information and participate in special studies.

- U.S. Citizenship.
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance (if applicable).
- Ability to develop and manage IT customer support performance requirements. Provide information and assistance to customers, evaluate established methods and make recommend and implement improvements where needed.
- Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and make recommendations when faced with conflicting data or information. Ability to apply judgment and originality in planning work, interpreting data, and refine methods and techniques being used.
- Ability to provide clear and helpful assistance 10 customers, reducing hand offs to others down to a very small number. Generalize and act on frequent questions and problems so the issues are resolved for all customers and questions arc anticipated and answered before they are asked.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of personnel both orally and in writing in order to plan coordinate or advise on work efforts. Contacts typically involve identifying options for resolving problems.
- Knowledge of AFTC mission, objectives, terminology, management practices, data sources, data flow, and system interactions of existing automated systems.
