The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) (NH-2210-03) to work at the 412 Electronic Warfare Group, (445 TS/EWJN) (IFAST) for Joint Simulation Environment Program, at Edwards AFB in Edwards, CA.

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
- 2 years of STIG evaluation and implementation desired
- 5 years of Windows Server/Client administration required
- 2 years of Linux/Unix administration desired
- 2 years of Microsoft Hyper-V or other hypervisor experience desired
- 2 years network switch setup and management desired
- 3 years Active Directory account and Group Policy management required

In this position you will administer and execute the overall Information Assurance (IA) program to include Communications Security (COMSEC), Emissions Security (EMSEC), Computer Security (COMPUSEC) and IA Awareness programs for modeling and simulation systems. Work with security teams to support site accreditation surveys, routes accreditation packages, and initiates protective measures after IA incidents are discovered on systems. These systems consist of digital and analog processors, cockpit displays and controls, mechanical and electrical interfaces, and operational flight program software. The software includes algorithms for navigation, ordnance targeting/delivery, flight controls, energy & propulsion management, communications, sensor imaging, and target locations and identification.

Major Duties:
- Implements and directs IT security policies and procedures to ensure protection of information transmitted to the installation, among system within the installation, and from the installation using Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), the World Wide Web, or other communications modes.
- Utilizes current and future multi-level security products collectively to provide data integrity, confidentiality, authentication, non-repudiation, and access control of the LAN.
- Reports to EWG group all incidents involving viruses, tampering, or unauthorized system entry.
- Controls access to prevent unauthorized persons from using network facilities.
- Limits access to privileged programs (i.e., operating system, system parameter and configuration files and databases), utilities and security-relevant programs/data files to authorized personnel.
- Implements methods to prevent or minimize direct access, electronic or other forms of eavesdropping, interpreting electro-mechanical emanations, electronic intercept, telemetry interpretation and other techniques designed to gain unauthorized access to IT information, equipment, or processes.
- Applies Information Technology (IT) security principles, methods, and security products to protect and maintain the availability, integrity, confidentiality and accountability of information system resources and information processed throughout the system's life cycle.
- Establishes and publishes flight policy to manage the lNFOSEC/COMPUSEC program and provides advice and guidance in its implementation and in procedures used in the development and operation of systems.
- Supports all base organizations in the development and approval of security packages and practices for the flight.
- Disseminates information and ensures computer security practices are adhered to by all functional areas.
- Reviews, analyzes and validates certification and accreditation (C&A) packages, as required.
- Continuously identifies and analyzes threats and vulnerabilities to the information systems to maintain an appropriate level of protection.
- Ensures computer software designs address information system security requirements.
- Accomplishes risk analysis and validates security testing and certification due to modifications or changes to security requirements.
- Leads work center personnel in the execution of a broad range of processes and practices to meet IA requirements.
- Defines distribution and balance of workload amongst employees in accordance with established job specialization, assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and assure that each employee has enough work to keep busy.
- Keeps in touch with the status / progress of work, and defines day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities, obtaining assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise.

- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY) approximately 20 days per year
- Must have knowledge of a full range of IT security principles, concepts, practices, products and services, and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability, implementing mitigating improvement, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures.
- Must have knowledge of IT INFOSEC security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews.
- Must have Local Area Network security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry.
- Must have knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems, processes and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
