The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Analysis and Technology Development Technical Advisor (NH-1515/0801-04) to work at the Analysis and Technology Development Branch (AEDC/804th TG/TDA) at Arnold AFB in Tullahoma, TN.

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $122,198 - $186,853 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
-Experience leading a team of highly technical and program management team members desired.
-Experience with long range planning of Advanced Technology desired.
-Experience leading the development and application of advanced modeling and simulation/computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools.
-Experience with digital modernization and model-based systems engineering tools and methodologies.

As the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC), 804th Test Group, Analysis and Technology Development Branch (TDA) Technical Advisor, the incumbent provides expertise to the Test Group for Modeling, Simulation and Analysis to support the development of a wide range of manned and unmanned aerospace vehicles, to include new/modified weapon systems and/or Advanced Concept Technology Demonstrators (ACTD). Additionally, the incumbent is a recognized expert in data analytics, machine learning, uncertainty analysis, model-based system engineering, and digital engineering. The incumbent has the primary responsibility over modeling and simulation, analysis in support of test plans, technical reports, and data products.

Major Duties:
-Serve as the subject matter expert on one or more aspects of integrated modeling, simulation, analysis and evaluation techniques that can be used to support the development of manned and unmanned aerospace vehicles and systems.
-Task and manage the analytic and data science personnel assigned to the branch
-Lead the digital modernization efforts within the branch and support those functions for the wing
-Direct, integrate, and oversee the tasks assigned in support of programs in the areas of modeling, simulation, and analysis

-U.S. Citizenship
-Obtain & maintain appropriate security clearance
-This is a designated Drug Testing Position
-Subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing
-A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field OR Bachelor’s degree in operations research; OR at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
-This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP). The selectee must meet or be capable of achieving the APDP certification as designated on the position description within the defined grace period for that certification level after assignment
-This position requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities achieving 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months
-Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station
-Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 10 days per year
-Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary scientific concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, and techniques to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods, and to plan and execute specialized programs of marked difficulty, responsibility, and significance
-Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, and operation of the Department of Defense (DoD), Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence systems acquisition, development, and/or sustainment; and knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting cycles, financial systems, and restrictions on expenditure of funds
-Knowledge of and skill in evaluating state-of-the-art and advancements in theory, application, technology, and policy affecting systems being developed, and in planning, organizing, and directing the functions and staff in critical aspects of development, production, and/or support of systems, subsystems, or equipment
