The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Electronics Engineer (NH-0855-03) to work at the 704th Test Group (704 TG), in the 746th Test Squadron (746 TS), TGGOI at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Incentives:

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $86,962- $134,435 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
- 2 years of experience in computer programming languages used for real time data acquisition, hardware communication and user interfaces; like C/C++, LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB.
- 2 years of experience in instrumenting electronics hardware and resolving hardware-related issues for operation of data acquisition systems.

Mission/Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as a senior professional electronics engineer with operational responsibility in assigned area(s) and technical oversight of projects. Considered the technical expert for the organization in electronics engineering assignments concerning instrumentation, data acquisition and controls; employee provides technical leadership and management to ensure project/program success. Work encompasses several phases of the development process in which the employee guides and evaluates the design and development activities of others.

Major Duties:
- Design and develop data acquisition and command-and-control hardware systems and software.
- Create and refine wiring diagrams to facilitate the fabrication of test equipment.
- Troubleshoot data collection and control software and hardware.
- Collaborate with customer to diagnose and resolve instrumentation issues.
- Contribute to test design in alignment with predefined objectives.
- Oversee equipment operation throughout the test execution phase.

Qualifications/Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- This is a designated Drug Testing Position
- A professional engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an ABET accredited institution in engineering or a closely related field, a degree in operations research, or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics including at least 3 semester hours in calculus is required.
- DAWIA Test and Evaluation Practitioner Certification required within 4 years of entrance on duty.
- Knowledge of professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
- Knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
- Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of electronic systems or devices.
