The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for (2) Full-Time IT Specialists (APPSW) (NH-2210-03) to work at the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Test Center (AFTC), at the 412th Range Squadron, Time Space Position Information (TSPI) Flight, at Edwards AFB in Edwards, CA.

This position has a typical 2023 salary range of $95,905 - $148,255 (includes locality).

Telework Information:
• This position is Situational Telework Eligible (must reside in the local area) for UP TO a maximum of 80% of the time. Amount of telework time and telework schedule will be at the discretion of the Selecting Official and implemented after entrance on duty.

Qualifications/Requirements

This position is for the maintenance and development of real-time and post-flight software, primarily for Situational Awareness (SA) and post-flight product generation. The primary discipline for this position is Computer Science, with additional experience in display and GUI design being beneficial. Primary duties will include the sustainment of existing TSPI Test Evaluation Command and Control System (TECCS) software to maintain or improve reliability and efficiency in an evolving test environment. Other or future duties may include designing and developing new software for real-time and post-flight systems. This can include development in C++ and C#, on MS-Windows and Linux systems.

- Obtain & maintain Security clearance
- Experience with and strong understanding of the C++ programming language
- Experience with or strong understanding of software development for real-time systems
- Experience with or strong understanding of MS Windows
- Experience with or strong understanding of real-time graphics display software (such as OpenGL)
- Experience with or understanding of DLL plugin development is a plus
- Experience with or understanding of Linux is a plus
- Experience with or understanding of C#, Python, or FORTRAN is a plus
- Some experience with Visual Studio, Eclipse, or other development environments is a plus

Qualifications/Requirements

This position is for the maintenance and development of Trajectory Estimation software, primarily for embedded sensors and post-flight product generation. The primary discipline for this position is Computer Science, with additional experience in Mathematics being beneficial. Primary duties will include modifying existing TSPI sensor Kalman Filter software modules to increase reliability, efficiency, and accuracy. Other or future duties may include designing and developing new software for real-time and post-flight systems, and for Batch Estimation processes. This can include development in C++ and C#, on MS-DOS, MS-Windows, and Linux systems.

- Experience with or strong understanding of GPS and Inertial Navigation systems
- Experience with or strong understanding of Kalman Filters and/or Least Squares Estimation
- Experience with or understanding of MS Windows, MS-DOS, or Linux is a plus
- Experience with or understanding of C#, Python, or FORTRAN is a plus
- Some experience with Visual Studio, Eclipse, or other development environments is a plus
