The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Inspector General Specialist (NH-1801-03) to work at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex Inspector General Office (AEDC/IG) at Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, TN.

This position has a typical 2024 salary range of $86,962 - $134,435 (includes locality).

Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
-Experience in performing military inspections/exercise planning desired.
-Experience with teambuilding to include instructional development desired.
-Experience with evaluating the implementation of Department of Defense and U.S. Air Force programs desired.
-Experience researching and interpreting Department of Defense and U.S. Air Force instructions, regulations, directives, and policies desired.

As Inspector General Specialist, the primary purpose is to serve as the Wing Inspections Team Manager and Inspections Scheduler. This position is part of the Inspections team, which plans, directs, conducts, and monitors all activities related to the Air Force Inspection System (AFIS), Commander’s Inspection Program (CCIP). Responsible for ensuring effective support is maintained for test operations across the enterprise and identifying areas of Fraud, Waste and Abuse through a robust inspection and exercise program. Perform duties as an inspector and may assist with complaint resolution.

Major Duties:
-Manages all facets of the Wing Inspection Team; serves as the inspections scheduler and performs gatekeeper duties.
-Assists with the self-assessment, exercise, and inspection programs.
-Develop Wing Inspection Team program to execute the Commander’s Inspection Program.

Qualifications/Requirements:
-U.S. Citizenship
-Obtain & maintain Secret security clearance
-In accordance with DAFI 90-302, incumbent must complete the Inspector General Training Course - Inspections (IGTC-I) and meet all other requirements for this position
-Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 10 days per year
-May be required to work outside of normal duty hours to support inspection activities
-Knowledge of Public Laws, Executive Orders, Department of Defense (DoD) Regulations, Department of the Air Force Instructions, and other issues related to the inspection process, to include DoD and Air Force (AF) administrative and inspection policies, procedures, techniques, and practices, as well as public information release and denial determinations (Freedom of Information Act, Official Use Request, Privacy Act, etc.)
-Knowledge of Air Force, Major Commands (MAJCOM), and installation program goals and objectives; the sequence and timing of key operational events and milestones; methods of evaluating the effectiveness of planning actions related to actual events; and the relationship of the various wing/center entities involved in overall program planning and execution of military operations, evaluations and audits
-Ability to plan, organize, and negotiate effectively with senior specialists and management to accept and implement recommendations, where proposals involve substantial resources, and require extensive changes in established concepts and procedures
-Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy; and work in a professional manner with installation leadership, as well as with local community, state, and/or Government agencies necessary to implement effective exercise and contingency response actions
